It is 250 for the one behind the driver seat, not sure what it would cost or take to put one behind the passenger seat (not the same area); I can find out for you if you would like?

Things I bought myself.

monitor: Farenheit 7000 2400x480 resolution $169.99
dvd player: Pyle/XoVision pldvd120 $109.95
bose cover: 6.00

Bought from them (wanted full warranty from them)

custom box: 250.00 (not sure if they are still charging this, but tweeter wanted 375 another shop wanted 350)

woofer: 10" JL Audio (They have woofers from 50.00 on up, you dont have to buy the best/most expensive) They suggested either: Jazz music - Phoenix Gold (less expensive) more thump: JL All of there subds are on display so you can hear them.

amp: Kenwood 79.99 (last one kinda deal, otherwise they suggested a small JL amp 130? or so? or you could go even cheaper) I was going to go with a huge high power amp, the said that would be a waste if I did. For what I wanted (good clean bass) something small and bulletproof would be perfect and it was.

fm mod: Audiovox: non wireless 50.00 This one came with a much needed noise filter. When the head lights are on you get waves, but with the filter it pretty much eliminates all waves.

rca cable ???
switch for the fm mod 5.00

install: Let them quote you on this. Install included all wires and such. They are very reasonable on install charges, and there work is amazing.

If you go there check out the customer cars book, and my car will be in it.

Does the fact that the amp is so far down't cause it to overheat? How do you know when it is covered up too far?

No, you don't HAVE to change out the stock head unit, but if you do, the system will sound about 100 times better. It's a piece of crap. I upgraded everything but the factory head unit, and when I finally did change it out, I was blown away by the improvement in quality.

They said that the amount of area in the compartment is good to not overheat, just dont throw a towel or blanket over it and I will be fine. So far I havent had any problems whatsoever.

Yes it does get hot, and sometimes after driving when I get home I will open the compartment.

I would love to hear a system with an aftermarket head unit. I dont think it could sound any better than this though.

Fairlady, at this Thursday night's club meeting, be sure to check out Z327's custom aftermarket sound system - it is awesome!
