Default Amps --> 2 ohm vs. 4 ohm

Can someone explain the difference in hooking an amp up in 2 ohms vs. hooking it up in 4 ohms. I know 2 ohms produces more power, but how is it hooked up any differently than if it were in 4 ohms? Also, are Infinity Kappa 60.5cs and 62.5i's 2 ohm stable? Thanks

To use the amp as 2ohm, you need to hook up TWO 4ohm speakers in parallel (+ to + and - to -). This setup is used typically for powering two subs. The box should tell you if the speakers are 2 ohm stable, but like i said the 2 ohm setup is really for subs since they only use one channel (no front/rear - left/right).
