Default Anyone know..

whats behind the plastic area behind the Headunit and Nav Screen? Is it save to cut or do I have to worry about wires and such?

Id imagine the possibility of some HVAC piping. and some wiring as well probably.

According to the shop manual the lower section is the "heating and cooling unit" and the upper section is an air duct.

What section did you find that at? I've check and found the air duct on the top section, but can't find if there's anything in the lower section. Isn't the heating/cooling unit the white box under the HU?

Page ATC-119. It looks to me like it's directly behind where the double-din slot would be. Planning on installing something deeper like a C-134 case?

Ah, ok. I see what you're talking about. I'm just planning ahead. I'm afraid the cable connection won't fit. Don't know what a C-134 case is, but the 'unit' I'm putting in is about an inch longer than stock HU, so worry about fitting connections. Guess I have to go to plan B if it don't fit.
