Has anyone been able to find a upgraded alternator for their Z?
I am looking to get one that has more ampage output for all the stereo gear going in the car.
Thanks,
Scott

Ive read SOMEWHERE on these boards that the stock alternator is putting out some serious charging already. It's not a little alternator, it really puts out some juice.
I have not seen ANY aftermarket alternators for the Z at this time.
Why not just put in a big beefy capacitor?

I'm curious about this as well. I was thinking of getting it rewound so it puts out more power than stock (115a I believe), but I'm not sure if that will make it not live as long.
OH and btw...capacitors are "band-aid" fixes, which can actually strain your alternator more; it's something else it has to charge in addition to your regular battery. The only true fix to dimming and shortage of voltage is a larger output alternator.

Maybe a "mean green" alternator can be made to fit?
