Default TV Tuner install anyone ?

I am considering adding a TV tuner to my Z roadster. I have the kenwood double din dvd unit.

Anyone with TV in their Z comment on the reception quality?
Also where do you run the antenna if i have a Z roadster?
Can you run it along the edge of winshield?

I ran my antenna in the A-pillar along the edge of the windshield. Reception varies from city to city, in some area's reception isnt bad at all but in others its just horrible.

Check out my thread here for my TV install. I ran it through the PC in my car.

The reception is pretty lame unless you are near the TV station.

i really think that it's unnecessary. cuz you dont want to watch it while driving and if you're going to watch, watch it with movies rather than 'News' on TV. IMO

Thanks for the advice. I'm here in los angeles, so we have 7 good local stations with 3 of them being nbc, abc, cbs. I have a portable handheld tv and reception is actually quite good so i'm guessing it can't be too bad for the car. Probably the biggest reason to get it is i'm a big laker fan and all their away games are shown on local station. Also my z roadster is a cruiser so thought my fiance might like the option.

I'm in la too. Looks like i have no other option than the A pillars for the antenna. So you're saying reception is marginal even in los angeles?

Any recommended tuners or antennas?

I get pretty good reception even on the 5 freeway going to norcal I pick up stations great, I live near the Burbank air port and reception there is horrible. Funny how im could be in the boonies and reception is good but not in the city. Reception around the burbank airport sucks even for radio, so it might just be the airport. But overall I'd have to say reception is 50/50. As for tuners I think they are pretty much all the same, there's only so much you can do with atenna reception.

I would love to watch the news on the way to work!

I actually put a tuner card in the pc in my Z. The reception was so bad I pulled it out. I'll probably give it another try with a better antenna some day.

What's up Ted!

my cousin has his nav-tv setup with the antenna behind the bumber of his m3, and standing still its perfect, moving not so much, but for stop and go traffic, its pretty decent.
