Default LCD Touch Screen (Xenarc, Lilliput, whatever)

Has anyone used this screen?
http://www.digitalww.com/VGA_VIDEO_MODULE.htm
It uses a Panasonic (EDTCB18QCF) LCD Panel from the description.

From what I can tell its not the same one used in the lilliput screens and I haven't been able to find out what screen was in the xenarc ones.

Just wondering. Looks like it does everything I need it too and I don't need to worry about taking a screen apart to get to what I need.

Default dunno

I haven't seen anyone using this screen. At that price though, I can't see why anyone HASN'T used it. I am also in the market for a screen, so if I find out anything else on it, I will post

That looks exactly like what the Xenarc looks like after taking it out of it's housing. In fact, that driver cdrom is the same as the one I got with my Xenarc. It says that it's USB but the cable they show is serial. Mine is usb and my cable looks like that cable except for one of the ends is USB instead of the 9 pin serial (between the #3 white and yellow RCA plugs). That's a really good price. Go for it.

Cool... I almost ordered it already today... but figured I'd ask since I couldn't find any real information about it.

Thanks for the info!

oddly zpylot, from what Ive seen the lilliput looks identical to the xenarc as well.

I have a sneaking suspicion they are all identical components packaged by different people.

Probably, but I don't have any experience with the Lilliput.

The lilliput has good picture quality and is very bright. Depending on what you are going to connect it to you may or may not have problems. I'm using mine with a Epia M10000 and I have only been able to get it to do 800x600. There's a lot of info in the display forum on mp3car.com and there may be a group buy still going.

Thanks for all your help and information! I went ahead and purchased the kit (http://www.digitalww.com/VGA_VIDEO_MODULE.htm) and will hopefully recieve it in a week to start testing it and working on the software side of my custom interface. A week or so after I get the screen I'll start ordering the actual computer components to use.
Thanks again! I'll post what I find on this display and what I think of it.

Please Do. If your opinion is positive, I might just have to pick up one of these myself

Anybody using the Xenarc 700TS? Its about 100 bucks more than the Lilliput. Is is worth it?
I'm concerned about daytime brightness.

I have had the Xenarc in my car for 6mo now and I think it is one of the best out there. The LCD that Xenarc uses is made by Gain, at least that’s what I have read on mp3car.com. I did a lot of reading before I installed my car pc.

The screen is not the greatest in direct sun light but I have not seen a better LCD in bright light. I can see it fine in the day time it’s just at some angles that it washes out. I also have the newer brighter LCD from Xenarc. The Panasonic LCD looks good, but I would still choose the Xenarc over all the other VGA LCD’s available today. Good Luck with the screen.

Xenarc is the best for carPC and they are the most expensive too. I had the 700TS. WORTH every cent.
