What one person considers "good enough" is different for others. I consider all the Blose parts as crap. Almost any upgrade from the Blose is an improvement. What you change depends a lot on what your budget is.

Do you have the Blose amp "fix" mentioned in the TSB?
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=36860

If I were to prioritize,
1. speakers
2. head unit
3. sub + amp

Although, some may say HU before speakers. These two are a toss up. Sort of the chicken or the egg dilemma. The speakers won't sound good if the source is crap. The HU is going to sound like crap if the sound delivery sucks.

My .02 cents.

Good luck.

I recommend going to an car audio shop to listen the all kinds of speakers. There are a wide assortment of speakers out there and everyone has their own particular taste. Also keep in mind that the speakers may sound different in the car than the show room. Nothing you can really do here, but maybe found someone else with a Z + aftermarket speakers.

TSBs are suggested fixes, but dealers are not legally obligated to fix. If one dealer won't fix it, a different dealership may.

Go with the Alpine SPX-177a components. On ebay for around 170/pair. Had them installed this past Saturday, with an Alpine 9833 head unit and a 60Wx2 amp. No sub, it sounds many times better than the stock setup. Also the crossover on the "X" speaker had loads of adjustments to fine tune the sound. Total cost with install was $800
