Hey guys. Taking my car in to get an audio system put in and wanted to get some opinions from the guru's of the board.

Alrighty I will be getting a pretty good price, but here is what I did. I went to a audio shop and said I want a nice clean sound system. Nothing that is rattling other cars, I am concerned with sound quality over loudness. And I am looking to pay money to do it right but nothing super exorbant. So here was the suggestion.

Headunit- Alpine CDA-7995

Subs- JL audio stealth box. (2 10w3v2)
Amp- JL Audio 500/1

Component speakers- JL audio VR series... didn't give me specifics on what exactly.
Component Amp- 250 4 channel... I think

Sorry like I said stuff started coming out and I was like hummm not sure I understand... but he had a lot of people in the shop so I said I'll ask some friends and if I still have questions you can explain it to me on monday.

So does this sound like a good rig... or something I won't be happy with? Just wanted some opinions from you guys. Thanks.

sounds pretty good, from reading the board i've heard that many weren't impressed witht he jl audio stealth box, partly because it is pretty big and not all that stealth. You can't go wrong with jl audio subs and amps thought. I have one jl audio 10w3 in the stock location and it hits pretty damn hard.

 

if you dont mind telling.. how much are they charging total? with the install

 

N666, We haven't gotten the exact price down. I am dropping the car off monday. It is a guy that a friend of my family for 30 odd years recommended so he is going to probably knock me a 25-30% MSRP break would be my guess. I'll get you all numbers on wednsday when I pick the car up. I'll break it down an all.

As a reference point, I had a system installed similar to yours except I did not use the JL stealth box. HU was a high end Eclipse unit. I paid $1600 installed with tax. Adding the stealth box I'd think the price for yours should be around $2300 all in.
