Amp confusion easy to do
I am looking into getting a new setup and am looking for the best SQL sub and amp combo. It is EXTREMELY hard to decide on on amp because each one's specs are rated at different volts. some say 1200, but are rated at 14.4 and wont ever hit those numbers. I need help finding a Class D amp that puts out 1200w into 1ohm. i will be going with either an RE XXX 10" or an Orion H2. Suggestions??
I just put a 2.4 Farad Digital Cap in my car and with the entire system pumping it was reading between 13.9-14.2 so you are not as far off as you think. The amps will still play, just not at it's total peak. If I'm not mistaken there is some gizmo you can buy that will jack your volts up to a desired level. I wish the audio companys would give us realistic power ratings, this is almost as bad as 12 hp air filters*

wow i dint think you wold get those numbers from just a Cap, do you have a different battery?
also i have heard the viper is good but i looked at it and it seems kind of bland looking, and the kicker sx is too much. I was thinking of the Orion 1200D so far, what about the new DEI digital amps? anyone know a price or how they are. i want a specifically class D amp that puts out at least 1200w at below 14volts. dont want to spend more than 500 though. thank for all the input...
