Default How much did your Infiniti Basslink cost?

I saw on one of these threads that it was $200 but I just checked Crutchfield and they want $350. Anybody have one that can clue me in on how they like it, how difficult the install was and where they purchased it? I am a bit of a Car Audio novice so please, be gentle.

Default price

Crutchfield pretty much charges list price (or close to it) on everything.

To get one in the $200 range try shopping.yahoo.com or ebay.com.

Discount jungle has it for $220

How do you like it? I won't be listening for HUGE bass, I just want something to handle the lows. Something accurate and kinda punchy.

I bought one last summer on ebay with "but it now" for around $180 for the black basslink with remote. Shipping was about $20. It was a seller who had a rating in the 10's of thousands. It arrived quickly without a hassle.

Sound is good for a 10" - much better than the Z's Bose factory sub.

Nice. Was installation pretty hassle-free? I am gonna upgrade my HU and front speakers first and then get the Basslink. How long did it take you to put it in or did you have a shop do it?

Well, I should have added that it was for my S14 that I had at the time which I have since sold. When I bought the 240, it already had a power wire from the battery and wiring from the aftermarket Sony headunit. So, all I had to do was plug the wires up in the trunk and was ready to rock.

^ I bought it for my Z but havent installed it yet. I put one in my daughters Civic, very nice. Great for the price. BTW- It's not a simple 10, or even a simple powered 10. It's a servo drive. Not to be confused with a speaker. The technology uses a 10" diaphragn coupled with a oposite fireing 10" radiator powered by a motor between the two. Much much more efficient than a simple speaker useing a voice coil to push paper, to push air.

Oh no kidding? Didn't know that.

BTW, just noticed you're a sound engineer. What's your setup? I do alot of experimental and highly processed sound-collage and deeply edited electronic music. Do you have a background in music?

My current touring rig is a 40 box McCauly stage array system with 48ch. FOH Crest XVCA console, matching onstage monitor rig. Our monitors are propriatary. All our PA systems use digital dbx driveracks.

Well I know dbx and Crest but you lost me on the McCauly You are obviously outta my league! I use Nuendo primarily on both my systems with an RME DIGI96 PAD and a M-Audio Delta 1010. Samson Resolv 80a monitors(I'm poor )

Thanks Beaker02. I'll check it out. What kinds of components did you go with and which HU for your Z? I trust your opinion a little more seeing as you deal with sound for a living
