Default Dang whinning noise...

I just install a new deck and now I got whinning noise from the amp.

The weird thing is it's only on the left speakers.
I dont have the back one hook up so I dont know..
But if I take out the input to the left channel, no noise
If I hook the right input to the left channel, then there is noise.

If I hook the amp up to my palm pilot, no noise.

The output from the deck to speaker dont have noise.

Do you guy think it's my amp grounding?

Thanks

HL

You said there is no noise when you hook it up to your Palm Pilot right? Is that using a seperate patch cable other than the one you are running from your head unit to your amplifier? If there is no noise with the Palm and it is using a different calble to input signal into the amp, I would suspect that interference is being introduced to the other cables from the head unit to the amp. The patch cables could be running next to some power calbes or next to something causing the interference.

Connect the cable that is on the left channel (the one with the noise) to the right channel. If the noise follows then you prob have a bad RCA.

Since you tried the right connector on the left channel and the noise went away then the ground on your amp should be good.

If you change the left cable and the problem is still there it could be your headunit.

I tried using a new set of RCA, hang above and away from possible interference.. still whine...

I tried using both both inputs. both work fine in right channel..
but when hook to left channel.. whine..

Damn I hope is not the head unit.. damn thing is brand new..
I tried regrounding the head unit really good.. but

Now you have to check to see if the left speaker wire is getting some type of interference. If that is ruled out, then it is either your left channel on your head unit or amp that is in need of repair.

I dont think is the head unit's left channel on the account that I hook both right/left channel to amp left/right.. only when there is input signal to left channel on amp that has problem.

Damn new amp too, hope that's not it..

If everything runs clean with the right rca and you tried a new left RCA from the HU to amp and you still have the whine then it's prob you're HU.
