Default What kind of subs are these???

Thinking about getting new subs. Has anyone heard of the Resonant Engineering XXX subs? or the Phionex Gold subs?

My friend told me about these subs, but I have never heard of them. Does anyone have any expierences with these companies? Are these subs any good?

PHOENIX Gold makes great wiring, rca interconnects, gold plated terminals, and Amplifiers, but I have never heard their subs or seperates...listen to them first before you buy. I prefer JL Audio for subs, and seperates, but Phoenix gold powers all of my speakers, and I am VERY happy.

I've heard some of the older Phoenix Gold subs. Nothing to write home about. Like onecoole said they make great amps and wiring but you should check out other options for the subs.

RE makes some of the most killer subs on earth. They are made primarily to produce the best sound quality possible but they can poud with the best of them. I would rank Phoenix Gold subs as average compared to Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.

Phoenix Gold just came out with a new series of subs called Xenon... My friend just put one in his montero and its very impressive, loud (800watts on it) and very tight.

Get on ebay and look up Phoenix Gold subs, they have 10s going for about 70 bucks now. From a store you would pay around 200 for one of the Ti 10s that some of those guys have listed on Ebay. In th system I am building now, I am going to use one of the Ti10s....

I put a Ti10 in my cousins truck with a 300 watt amp, and it is very clean and crisp. I was completely impressed by them.

With that said, the new Xenon series subs are awsome.

k4ngsta, the JL Audio subs are the ones you need to consider. I've used their products in my last 3 cars. Nothing cheap, but if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. They suck the power up, so if you're serious about it, you're gonna need at least 1000 watts from an amp, a capacitor, a stand-alone battery (Optima is top shelf), and a circuit breaker. If you go with the standard fuse in the engine compartment, you're gonna blow the fuse every month. Follow up with your project plans, man...

If your blowing fuses every month you need to bump your fuse ratings. I have a US Amps USA-400 (older model) High Current Amp that pushes 1200 watts at 1 ohm and 2400 at .5 ohms. It pulls 146 amps of current at full power and I have NEVER had to use a circuit breaker. With proper fusing you should NEVER need one. I too have used JL Audio subs and or amps in my last 4 cars and agree they can take alot more power than JL says they can but for 12W3v2 or 12W6v2 he should not need more than a JL 500/1 (which by the way bench tested to 733 watts at 2ohms). Unless hes going 12W7 or larger 1000 watts would be excessive.
