so i have recently changed a lot of my system. I installed the infinity perfect 6.1 components the other day, and have had the cda-9835 alpine HU for almost a month, along with the JL 300/2 amp powering my speakers and a alpine mono amp powering my jl sub. Anyways so i blast my music pretty damn loud most of the time. Today it was around 95 degrees outside and i was in traffic for an hour n a half, when suddenly i the speakers and the sub just cut off, and the head unit was still "playing" the cd apparently. I checked the amp lights to see if they had gone into thermal mode from being so hot outside, and neither was in thermal mode and both were still on. If i turned off the head unit for a min or two and then turned it back on it would be fine. It seems as though the head unit got overheated or something. The weird thing is though that after this happened , i drove tonight for a bit with the volume at 5-6 tops cuz i was with another person in the car, when all a sudden the same thing happened. This sounds like the head unit is defective does it not? i mean it cant be anything else i figure
