thats a pre-amp tube i think! not a power tube. they run that hybrid tube pre-amp/solid state power section on guitars amps.. . gives it a warmer 'brown' sound.
a marantz in your car though. . .
it doesnt look to be detachable, in which case, goodbye around here.

I wanted to bring this one back.
Here is why. I am going with an all vacuum tube technology setup.
I intend to install this headunit along with...
2 (or 3) Us Amps TU-600
MB Quart Q series 216 components (front) (already installed)
MB Quart Reference series (rear fill) most likely powered only by the HU
2 JL Audio 10w7's in custom fiberglass enclosure under the strutbar
Plus an unreasonable amount of sound deadening as well.
Could anyone spare a moment to comment on this plan of mine? Any feedback would be appreciated. But I have my heart set on this HU, subs, amp, and already have the front components, fyi.
I'd like to know if there would be problems running a tube headunit with tube amps? Will I have to install it to find out?
I am aware I'll need to have a frequency converter to use the head unit.
Thanks in advance.

that is a lot of $$$ are you running normal RCAs or XLR cables for the amps?
btw I really like that deck, so simple, pure sound.

Forgive me but I am not sure, but I know I'll choose which ever will offer the better sound quality... :-)
I intend to have this car for a long, long time and would like it to be badass, ya know...

This should get your started on the XLR path. It is the most badass analog signal transfer system to date.
If you do get this done, your system would be the only on this forum I would seriously want to hear. Tubes fascinate me

I was thinking about putting this head unit in my car, but I'm also worry that with the Z not exactly being the most soft riding car on the street, you would constantly have to rebias the tube (if that is even possible on this deck) and that all the bump and shake would destroy the filament on the tube itself.
I run a tube system at home, and just absolutely love the sound, there is nothing compare to it.
