Default installing a head hunit

i need some help from some install veterans here.

i just ordered the pioneer avic-n1 and i'm debating weather I can instll the unit myself. I installed a head unit on my previous car without any trouble but it was a pos so i spliced the wires instead of using a harness. I think I can do this but I'm not completely sure what else I will need for the job.

I already know where to find the speed detection wire nav thing), now all i need to know is how hard it is to work with this dash and the stock head unit? does anyone have a link to a how-to on the dash removal? how do i know which harness I need? is it by manufacturer of the unit and the manufacturer and model of the car?

any help and/or advice would be apperciated!

thanks guys!
