Default XM/iPod install

Help would be appreciated! I have a 04 Roadster that I want to put an XM commander into as well as the ability to hardwire the connection for my ipod. A local installer said he would need to install a Pioneer FM modulator for the ipod and a couple antenna devices to hook both up. I just want better sound out of the iPod (i have itrip and it doesn't always work so great). I'm worried as well about Nav, will this set up interfere w/ voice operation of nav system? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

tell your installer to get a clue:

read this post at 350zmotoring:

the only way to do true AUX in with the SAT-ready BLOSE system.

don't go the FM modulation route, you won't like it.

Hopefully the PAC AUX-IN part works with the NAV version of the BLOSE as well.

Satellite Radio - Which 2004 Nissans? Here are the 2004 Nissans that are Satellite Radio ready:

Ê> 2004 350Z TOURING Coupe models equipped with the BOSE AUDIO. (Not for Roadster)
ÊÊÊ
ÊÊÊNOTE: the 350Z doesn't have a satellite button. The radio button used to change from AM to FM is used to get Satellite Radio. Also, 350Z requires the 2004 350Z N-Bus Extender Harness. This is an additional item that is not included in either satellite radio kit and must be ordered separately.

again.. read the link in my former post, you don't need that harness. The PAC AUX-IN part handles the extra inputs through the RADIO button. You press the RADIO button to cycle through the inputs, FM1, FM2, AM, AUX1, AUX2 (this order may not be correct, but you get the point)

yes, the touring has the correct BLOSE HU which is SAT ready. (I think this only means that the RADIO button is capable of switching inputs with a harness or the PAC unit. All the SAT hardware is external to the HU.)

Here is a link to install the XM commander yourself:

This method does not involve the AUX-IN unit, fyi.
