Hardwire question 8500 to V1

Hardwire question 8500 to V1
Just got my V1 today, I have my 8500 hardwired with a phone cable to the homelink. can I just unplug it and switch to the V1 or will it get fried? I'm guessing its all the same current but just want to make sure.
