Other than that everything is laid out the same.

OK, back to reality. Than NO-Nag is currently $65.00. I will coming out with a lower priced one in a few weeks that uses a less expensive processor. Some folks really wanted it now so this is what I can do for the time being.
The Xbox to Nav device is going to be $175.00
I hope we can do business some day!
Thanks

I can do something for the PS2 but the PS2 is limited in that it lacks a HardDrive. You will be limited to playing games, MP3's and DVD's from disk rather than directly from a hard drive. If there is a sincere demand I will do it. I am getting a spare LCD screen from another forum member. That will allow me to perform tests without tearing my own car apart.

I don't know if it matters or not, but there is a product for the PS2 called HDloader. They no longer sell it (Sony made them take it off the market), but you can still find them on Ebay and around the net. Basically, the network adaptor for the PS2 has an IDE hard drive connector built onto it. Just attach an IDE drive to it, slide it into the PS2, and this HDloader program allows you to rip all your games to the hard drive and play them from there. I've been using it for a few weeks, and it's fantastic.
Just wanted to mention it. Don't know if it'll help you any.

But on that note, if you ever want to make a device that will get rid of the nag screen on the Alpine nav units, let me know. (!)
There is an Alpine module availible:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
The PS2 stuff sounds really cool, and the PS2 is MUCH easier to mount in the Z/G, given the large size of the Xbox. You should try adding standard video inputs to the module to make it more universal, and adding audio capabilities will make it an all around product, instead of just taking care of the video! If you could produce a box that accepted ALL video inputs and plugged into the SAT port of the HU you would have a very hot seller, asuming you could beat the $400 price tag of similar units already on the market. You could probably even MATCH the $400 price tag if you can get digital audio into the HU instead of using an FM modulator like everyone else uses!

I already have that unit. (Another brand, actually, but the same thing.) That was required to make my Alpine lcd screen work with the PS2.What I'm talking about is the *nag* screen when you first turn on the navigation unit. It requires you to hit "okay" before it will continue. Same as the factory nav unit. I just need a way to bypass that stupid nag screen each time I start the car. Ugh.
I'm sure his circuit will work. All you need is to 'close' the contact on the NAV unit X amount of seconds after the accesory power is turned on. There is a wide variety of ways to do it, some cheap (microcontroller), some expensive - timing relay.
I'm not positive, but I would imagine Generators circuit just creates a short ground pulse roughly 4-5 seconds after the car is turned on. You would have to tear your Alpine apart and see if the switch goes to ground when you push it. You would then have to solder a wire (or two if its not switched to ground) directly to the circuit board of you Alpine nav unit (voiding all things resembling a warranty). Like I said before, KPtechnologies VDC module can be used for this, it creates a pulse roughly 5 seconds after the car is started, but, all end soldering is left to the installer.

SirZ: You dont need a circuit to operate the NAV while driving. Ally uo have to do is interupt the speed pulse line with a little switch.
Peter: About the backup camera. Nissan processes the backup camera thru a seperate module and then passes that video to the nav contoller and then the nav screen. You would need the camera and the $$$additional$$$ device to get that to work. You could do it with homebrew circuits I guess.
Jreiter: You could use the nag circuit in the Alpine radio. As Kpierson says it is a very simple process. The difficult part is getting the courage to be the one who opens up the Alpine and gets busy with a little wiring. I could not offer any asistance unless of course you lived in the NYC area.

Do a search, its been done time and time again. The only drawback is that when you perform the mod it interupts the NAV's speed sensing wire, so the NAV doesn't think the car is moving. This can mess up all the things related to moving, such as NAV location.

I think we're on two totally different pages here.
I'm referring only to the nag/warning screen when you first power on an Alpine nav unit, requiring you to press the 'okay' button. This is totally unrelated to the foot/hand brake wiring emulators which send pulses to the lcd screen, allowing it to work while driving. (The lcd screen and nav unit are two separate pieces.)But anyway, I don't mean to jack the thread. I'll shut up about the Alpine stuff since there is no way to address it as of yet. (Unless someone can figure out a way to modify the software on the dvd or the firmware, perhaps.)
Both systems work exactly the same, they turn on and before you can use them you have to agree by pushing OK. The OK button is an electronic switch, all this module does is tricks the unit into thinking the OK button was pushed, so it would work exactly the same no matter what brand it is. It will work with the Nissan 'OK' button or the Alpine 'OK' button. It's all basically the same thing!
PM me if you have any other questions so we don't get too far off track in this thread.

FINALLY!!! been looking for something like this forever.
a few questions if you dont mind.
1. 175 for the bypass and xbox setup?
2. do you include directions on how to go about doing everything?
3. what else do i have to buy for the audio to work? and how much does it cost?
4. how did you install the xbox to have run on the cars 12v setup?
5. how much does an xbox cost nowadays?
looking to buy asap.
