Default XM Radio

Guys,

Whats the average cost of XM radio?

Any recommendations?

My wife some sort of XM on the net. Songs are pretty good.

I am thinking the HU Alpine 9833. Do I have to get any hardware (antennas)?

I've had both XM and Sirius. Sirius has much better content IMO.

Usually you get the satellite receiver free now if you buy an antenna. Antenna cost ~$69. Then just add the activation (usually free now) and monthly fee (if you buy a year, you get a month free, add a month for each year purchased).

It's easy to install, just do it yourself.

Overall satellite is a good purchase, I can almost alwways find something I want to listen to, and there's something to be said for not having to select music yourself.

I would recommend Sirius as well. You should also consider a plug and play unit you can use at home or on another car.

I mounted it on the dashboard. Reception in Tampa is very strong, and I found the dashboard the most convenient place to put it. I had a Miata before and also placed the antenna on the dash. Reception is 1 or 2 bars most of the time, which is fine.

Thanks Zboater I looked at your photos before and didn't notice it at first. I here some have mounted it on the rail between the trunk and the boot with good luck also. Will have to think about it a little more.
