Default three LCd screens, PS2, and a back up camera. help!!!!

I am intalling 3 LCD screens, ps2 and a b/u camera. I need an a/v switch. all of the switches I see on the net for cars are well over $100. Even on ebay.

Each of my lcds have two inputs. Is there a way around this?

I see a bunch of home a/v switches and they are $14, $19, or $30. They appear to do the same thing as the car version. any idea what the difference is? anyway to save the $100 and still have a good sys?

thanks guys

Xbox is better because their easier to mod, and once modded they sky is the limit with them.

if you just want games and movies you could also get the HDLoader for the ps2 which allows you to add a hard drive into your playstation and rip games onto the hard drive so you dont have to have the games with you. allows you to rent games, rip them, and never have to buy it (though that is definitely illegal).

The reason to get the xbox over ps2 is Halo2. That's it, no other reason needed. lol.....It's the same price, plus the xbox has a hd. just load evox and you can rip games to the hd and watch dvds.

reason to get ps2 over xbox is gran turismo...and gt4 should be here soon. halo is only good when you can hook up 16 people and 4 tvs. or else xbox is good to use as an in car computer.

xbox already has a HUGE hard drive

plus its better overall for gaming. Both play DVD's, but games are over the top with xbox.

They both have advantages, Get both and put the X-box under the drivers seat and the PS2 under the passenger seat and call it a day.

I purchased a Mobile Authority tv tuner that allows you to switch between 3 sources out to 2 different screens. I got it from Frys for $100 and it came with a small remote control, tuner and 2 diversity antennas.

I hope that will help you.

nope that is all that matters, XBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol

ok this is the deal daewoo,

i just called my shop, www.sound-in-motion.com they told me you can buy those A/V switchs from radio shack, i have 3 of them for all my TV's here at home.

buy one of those and you will be fine, no need to spend all that junk money, the only problem with the ones at radio shack is that you have to press a button litterally on the a/v switch, so you can't do anything internal.

for example

i have these all over my house. you can hook up 4 other components, (e.g. screens, xbox <--which is the $hit , or what ever else)

as you can see though you need to push the button to switch what components you want.

so to anwser your question, yes you can use the cheap house hold a/v switchs, but the ones your talking about made for the car i think are a lot more user friendly and easier to install internally.

hope that helped.

As nice as your car looks and you want to put a pushbutton switch box in it!
Are you nuts???
Its not worth doing unless you do it the right way. You might be able to hide it somewhere.

Where are you installing your screens at?

i agree

as for the question daewoo, no need for any power, so i guess the question is where are you going to install it, i would say underneath dash, where the knee pad is,

just an option, if your trying to save money its a good way to do so.

Well guys I think I might have figured out a way to avoid the switch all together. As I said b4, my monitors can take two inputs and u can toggle back and forth with the remote.

I am installing one monitor in the dash and two in the trunk. The idea is to have two in the trunk for shows. With wireless controllers people can play games standing at the rear of the car. The two monitor will be exclusively x-box/DVD. So no switching is needed there.

Only the dash mounted LCD will need to have multiple sources. I would like to toggle between the back-up cam and game/dvd. I think I can simply use the remote. Thus no need for a switch.

If this does not work, I will likely put a switch right under my seat. out of sight and easy to access. As for why I am trying to go cheap on this one. I AM RUNNING OUT OF $$$$$$$$

This D@MN car is breaking me! I figure it will hold me over for now and I can get a nice switch later.

Do you guys think I need a signal amplifier?

The sys is about 1-2 weeks away from completetion. I will post detailed pics when she is finished.

I have been working on it for about a month and a half now. It is taking forever because I am fiberglassing the box and tv racks myself. I am also attempting to paint this stuff myself (kinda scary)

The install of the head unit, TVs, front and rear speakers, LEDs, and three amps shouldn't be to bad. It is the small stuff like running the wires, dynomatting, and SANDING!!! that is killing me. I haven't decided if I want to paint the center dash yet. trying to see how the box turns out first. I figure if I f#ck it up too much I can just have my body shop save me.

Thanks again for all of the help.

You shouldn't need a signal amplifier unless you are running more than 75 feet of cable in your car.

Post some pic of the construction. Let us see what you are doing.

Nice Daewoo! Post pics! I like PS2 just because of the controllers, I've played XBOX and the control just has too many buttons, although I would like to listen to my own music while playing a game, maybe PS3 will have that when it comes out next year, either way. I think i'm going to get an XBOX and have the PS2 and Xbox in my Z, that way it's a win-win situation.

I think that you have him confused with another person.
Either way, anyone can post here with a 350 or not.
