Default Daisy-chaining two amps

Hello,

I have an R5.0:4 (4 channel amp) and and R5.0:1 (mono amp). If I decide to use my nonbose HU, i will be using two converters to connect to my amps. Front convert is for front speakers (4 channel amp). As for the rear converters, I would like to share it with the rear speaker and sub.

The amps have the ability to daisy chain. What is the correct way to set this? Do I install the mono amp first then --> 4channel (rear input)? Or is it the other way around? The mono amp has the cofig switch. Is it set to LP/LP?

Side note: I do not want to use a Y splitter at the converter level if possible.

Thanks,
Tony

Those are phoenix gold amps right? Do they have pass-thru crossovers? I don't know what you mean by "converter" is that the Red and White cables from the HU?

If your HU doesn't have Front, Rear and Sub RCA's I think what you're describing is when the HU only has Front and Rear RCA's. Send those 2 sets of RCA's to the 4 channel amp, and send the Pass-Thru set from there to the mono-block.

The Monoblock's crossover you're gonna want on LP (Lowpass) so that your sub isn't playing higher frequencies.

The 4 Channel Amps crossover you're either gonna want on All Pass (AP) or High Pass (HP) and then set the crossover.

Peanuthead,

Thanks man. I decided to go with an aftermarket unit which has 3 set of RCAs. But what you describe is totally correct.
