Bose and aftermarket HU
Has anyone tried conneting and afermarket HU to the bose amp system using the preouts on the HU?
Is the sound quality improved?
I'm not looking for a great sound improvement but i'd like to play mp3 in my Z.
Does anybody knows anything about this Hu?

thanx

Blose
For the best sound you would need a converter. The bose amps expect differential signals, not line outs. Line out is what real head units use. Blose uses differential signals, apparently in an effort to prevent you from switching to non bose replacement parts.
I wouldn't expect much better sound either. The worst parts of the bose system (IMO) are the amplifiers and speakers. The speakers are cheapy paper cones with "whizzer cones". The sub woofer is a joke. The amp have the "special bose eq" circuits.
You could try tunning the HU in to the bose amps. It _might_ work.
