compustar half way installed; mislabeled starter wire?
I got a compustar alarm installed today; but they ran into one little hitch. the starter function needed a cold start lead; and its supposed to be green on all nissans including the 350Z.
but it isnt...
anyone familiar with this problem that could tell me what color the wire should be? they're looking it up this week too; tech help for compustar wasnt available on saterday; but Im bringing it back next friday.
FYI: so far; its a pretty slick system. doors auto lock when I put it in gear(and on a manual no less). car stays running when you turn it off till you get out and shut the door; at which time it auto arms; again cool since you cant possibly park it in gear and accidently start it. if you do need to park it in gear; and you hit the brake after turning it off; itll shut off; but will not restart even if you try.

well an update for you guys; Id imagine some others might run into this problem.
apparently the wire was green; and where it should be. problem was; my car simply does not have such a wire...
from what they found out the first few Zs did not have a cold start wire unlike later Zs(and all other nissans made at that time).
wierd I guess. either way their testing that theory by keeping it overnight to start it up in the morning.
FYI I have vin 16XX from november 02.

I dont know; they didnt know either. they just said; all nissans have it; and nissan is the only maker they knew of that had it. its supposed to do something with cold starts(if that wasnt obvious) but since it works without it... yeah.
range... Im a bit disappointed to be honest. Its reliable within about 150-200feet; beyond that it depends whats between you and the car. in retrospect I wish Id gotten the spread spectrum; I opted for the 900FM because the pager was smaller; sleeker; vibrate function; and clock. also 100$ cheaper.
