Question Basslink Stealth Install HELP

whats up guys,

I recently installed a basslink sub into the stock sub location behind the drivers seat. I couldn't find anything good to anchor it against, so to get it finished I just used zip-ties in the front to hold it in place and placed a piece of carpet under it.

It sounds great and it's easy to take out when I autox, but it eventually moves up against something and starts rattling. I'm sure most of you know the gas tank is directly below the sub, so I can't drill it into the bottom.

does anyone have some advice on how to anchor it down? Here's what i'm considering:

1. Making some kind of clamps to press up against the subwoofer and the sides of the well. PVC or wood?

<|______| BASSLINK| _______|>
| clamp | | clamp |

2. epoxying a piece of plywood to the bottom of the well and drilling the sub into the wood

3. Just removing the spare tire and putting it below the trunk mat.

Mine is bolted to the top of the compartment. It's difficult to do but it is possible to attach it from all four corners. We used some rubber washers sandwitched between fender washers to keep it from rattling. The bolts are held in with nylock nuts which I'm hoping will stay in place with all the vibration.

acwatson,

The rattlings come from the basslink leaning against the metal bracket. Look into that.

BPL, did you have to remove the metal brackets to mount the basslink against the top? If so, how did you remove them?

They were bent back and up against the ceiling of the compartment. They're pretty thick so it required lots of bashing and swearing. If you have a cutoff weel you can make things alot easier for yourself. I'll see if I can find some better pictures of the tops of the mounts so you can see it better.

This is where the bolts are on top. What we did was drill the front holes from the bottom and measure the position of the back holes with a ruler and drill them from the top.
