Default good set up

I am not good with these things and going to the auto shop they will see my comming if you know what i mean. so can anybody give me a good idea of what will sound good not going over 2k?

the place I talked to yesterday said they would do the deck "clarion" front speakers top of the line JL so I only need to run the front and I can 86 the rear, One JL 10" in the stock place but building a new incloser and shoting it down, tweeters in the stock place, amp for front speakers one for sub, install and everything was 2100

seems like alot for 2 6" speakers 2 tweeters, 1 deck and 1 sub

You can buy all parts on ebay for 40-60 percent of the retail prices- should save you about $1000. It has saved me that much. Everything is brand new. Good Luck

p.s. If you do that, don't tell the stereo place where you bought the stuff from.

It depends on what Clarion, what JL speakers, what JL sub, what amp, etc etc. JL makes some fairly low priced stuf and some very expensive stuff as well...

If you do the install This would be around what you want to spend.

You may find better prices on some of these.

Alpine 9833 HU w/ American International install kit, and Harness
~$400 shipped

CDT Audio HD-62 Front Components ~$400 Shipped

JL Audio 300/2 For Front ~$380 shipped

JL Audio Stealthbox ~$500 Shipped

JlL Audio 500/1 w/ remote bass control ~$420

Power stock rears with HU.

Thats about $1900

I think you would be happy with that set up.

I would run new 12 awg wire from the amps to the X-overs (mounted up front) and 14 awg to the speakers from the X-overs.

My $.02

well I just looked over his notes agian and they want to put a 300/2 amp to power the fronts and tweets and a 250/1 for the one 10" sub. so spending a extra $100 for that set up dosent sound all that bad does it?
