Default Just ordered my new subs

I just placed the order for my new subs yesterday.
Two IDMAX 12s, Dual 2 ohm. Im gonna run them at 1ohm with the Orion 2500D amp, 1200 watts to each. They should arrive in sometime next week, at which point im starting the construction of my sub chamber. I will post pics when all the stuff is in.

When everything gets here Im starting on the sub box. Im building it between my Z bar and the seats, facing forward. Im making it out of a fiberglass resin with probably particle board as the base for it. I still havent decided if I want to mount them regular or inverted, but Im gonna mount them on angles facing eachother. Again, I will post pics of this too as progress comes along.

I'll keep you guys up with my progress--

I've never had a chance to listen to those subs, I've read many good things about them.

Forward facing the subs aren't the ideal setup.

Originally I was thinking of making my box behind the Z bar facing the back of my hatch, but then I thought, thats what everybody does. I thought that I would do something original with them and thats why Im having them between the Z bar and the seats. Im thinking of inverting the subs though, so this way they wouldnt be facing forward anyway, and Im probably gonna have them angled on about a 30 degree angle or so toward eachother.

They came in and they look really good. I dont really like the cone too much (too plain) but the cage and the magnet look great, so I decided Im definately gonna mount them inverted.

Im gonna try to get some pictures of them up here asap, but right now Im having issues with my digital camera so it could take me a bit. I may have to end up using my cell phone and email them to myself

Okay... I gave up on the digital camera because the software is all goofed. Im just gonna go out and buy some new software and install that when I get around to it. For now, I took some pics on my phone and emailed them to myself. The quality is a little off but its better than nothing. I will attach them below:

I haven't gotten around to taking a pic of the amp yet. When I get a chance to, I will and I will put it up here with the rest of them. Its the big Orion one, the 2500D. Let me see if I can find a link on a web page real quick.....

Yeah, there we go. That's it up there.

Seriously, dual ID max's is an amazing setup. Did you consider one ported?

MB Quart Reference series with another one of those Orion amps.
This is the amp:
I believe its 125x4... not 100% positive on that number though. I'll double check and get back to you guys on that one.

Nah.. I dont think that I'll have the room for that, especially since Im squeezing them in front of the Z bar. Im doing an inverted mount on them to save airspace already, and if it was a ported enclosure that would require like 25% more airspace which I dont have to spare. Im doing every space conservation technique I can think of to get enough air for those, because triple-stack magnet subs require a lot of air. I dont have the exact numbers on hand, but I think these take something like .8-1.2 cu. ft. each. I even decided to make the box out of fiberglass resin instead of 3/4" particle board or MDF to conserve airspace. Its gonna be a tight fit in there, but it will look golden when its done.

I only paid $475, and that was from a license distributor that I have bought a ton of stuff from in the past so I know exactly what I am buying and the product definately comes with a warranty. I usually don't trust ebay because you never know what you are buying. Half of the time the stuff is either broken or stolen, (or doesnt exist at all) so yeah of course they sell for real cheap prices. My friend bought a set of clears for his 3000GT 2 months ago on ebay and they 'got lost in shipping' somehow.
Im not trying to make an attack on you, just saying why I dont use ebay and why I dont mind paying a little extra to buy from licensed distributors.
