I need a headunit ASAP.

criteria is

mp3
cd
am/fm radio
under $200.00

i will be hooking this headunit up to a 300/2 jl amp and jl xr650-csi components.

this is temporary until i decide which nav/dvd unit i will upgrade to later on.

Clarion DXZ545 on Ebay...

 

get an older Pioneer 7400 on ebay or something. It will have all the good controls and such that you will need as well as mp3 and stuff

 

Alpine cda9827 ebay.

MP3, satalite, u name it! not bad for under $200 shipped.

 

Alpine is sweet, but their lower priced models seemed to be lacking things I needed, like 3 pre-outs, crossover, time correction.

 

like dan said, the lower models lack all of the good control options.

go with a higher end older model and you will have more features, but may lose some flashy colors or displays or something.

plus, if you buy an old one, you know its price will not change much when you turn around to sell it later since it has already depreciated over the years.

this alpine has 3 outputs and many other goodies like 4 volt pre-outs.

Like I said, not a bad sys for $200 shipped!

 

yeap that was the major decision maker for me.
