Can't be done...

The DVD Nav unit does not have the MPEG 2 decoder chip needed to play DVD video, and it can't be added after the fact.

I have read a thread where people have installed a kit to attach a dvd player to the stock nav, it can be done.

You can hack the screen and put a switch so the LCD can be used with another input. But as far as I have ever heard you cannot get the DVD nav player to play movie DVD's.

Youre talking about on the stock Nav unit right?
If youre talking about on an aftermarket setup, my AVIC-80 plays DVD and NAV both...
