Default Got a removable or docking satellite receiver?

I've seen many nicely installed permanent mounted units.

BUT.....

Does anyone here use a removable or docking type of satellite receiver?

How did you mount or install your dock?

Got a picture?

I just bot a JVC. It is so large and heavy that I'm thinking about returning it. It does have a LARGE display however. Can anyone tell me if that is a desirable feature?

I don't know why anyone would want such a large and obtrusive PNP.

Here is my Delphi Unit in the nav hole. The unit is aluminum silver with orange display . . .looks like it was meant to be there.

And it is removable / dockable.

I was considering mounting my SkiFi2 in there, but the cradle is fairly large. Did you remove the storage compartment, and cut into it? Also, how did you get enough head room to lift the receiver out of the cradle when you want to take it into your house / office, wherever?

I have the same set up as the posted picture. I had to remove the Navigation box and cut an approximate 2"X4" hole in it. There's enough room to remove it pretty easily. It's relatitivly simple to install.

I have the 2003 Bose and I used a FM Modulator. Sound is okay.

How did you secure the cradle to the nav box once you had the hole in it?

I used double sided 3m foam tape. Worked perfectly.

Good Luck!
