for people with the Kenwood DDX7015
I just ordered the H/U and I was just wondering something about the install... how did you modify the metra kit to fit the H/U and if you drilled new mounting holes how big were the holes that you guys drilled? and also... I have a bose system without nav system... do I still have a green wire going to the e-brake? or do you have that only if you get it installed professionally?

There are several posts that show you how to make up the wire harness, and so on. The only thing I recommend doing (you don't have too) is to not hook up the ORANGE illumination wire. Some units have died because of it. (Assumed)

yeah... I was looking all day yesterday and today... but couldn't see how they exactly modded the metra kit, and didn't know if the green wire is there if you install it yourself...

If you have more specific questions about the wiring let me know, as I have the deck out of my car at the moment.
Found this too...

This is what Mark (Phatmitzu) was referring to when he said he had to drill new holes in the stock bracket.
The HU will stick out about 3/8" to far, so drilling new holes that much further back, gets it flush

I started with the top left hole there, and then did the top right.
To make sure I had the right angle, of how the HU sits in the dash, I used the stock braket as a guide, so that it was good and level

Hyuk81,
I work for a Car Audio and Alarm Install Shop here in Hilo, Hawaii. We sell the 7015 unit does not need a kit. The 7015 unit in the Z utilizes the stock iso mounting bracket from the stock reciever. The only thing that will need to be done is yo fabricate a new trim to accomidate the angle of the radio opening. As for the green wire. All you need to do is ground it out to any ground that you can find and this will allow you to use the DVD player while driving. Do this at your own risk. Keep in mind also that this is very dangerous and illigal in most states. Also, if your using a scosche harness, it will be the NN03B harness. If you have a Bose system, you will have to bypass the factory amp located inside of the stock sub location behind the drivers seat. While your back there, run new wires to your rear speakers so that they can play normally. There is blocker somewhere inline that prevents the speaker from playing louder then a specefic volume. Strange, but trust me, you'll want to replace them. Hell, if your going to do all that. Replace everything and go for broke. I fit four 10 into my Z. Anythings possible.

But, I noticed that the rears didn't play right. Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on wire or will it depend on the speakers I put back there?
