Thanks everyone for the good info. The lower grills can be taken off without taking the door panel off but it is a PITA and you can easily break one of the clasps if you aren't careful. I had also tried to make guide holes using a fine tip carving attachment for the dremel, but I noticed discolor when I used a drill bit to widen the back side..seems once you but a spinning 1/16" bit in there it carves out the sides so they reflect light differently. That is a great idea about an ice picm instead of the drill. Where did you get replacement grills?

I don't like the looks of the stock grilles. I modifed the rear ones, but since the door ones are a strange shape, I decided to leave well enough alone. Drilling them out and using speaker cloth was an option I considered but I'm not sure its worth the effort.

Nice job! I hate the look of the rear covers too..but then again the whole interior is sort of matchbox-like. I have an MB Quart Reference 12" sub that I love, I couldn't justify putting MBQ in the same spot as you did though, I only run those speakers as fillers.

Actually thoes MB covers came with my PCE 6.5" components I used in the front. I removed the rear speakers and replaced them with 5.25 coaxial MB discuss series only for rear fill during DVD playback. When I'm listening to audio, I have the system faded 100% to the front.

Before I give any details, we have only made one pair so far. As of now we are still trying to see if we will produce them. We also want to make them affordable. I don't think anyone wants to spend $200/door. So we are investigating some other options then fiberglass molds.

perhaps, but if nazar already has the molds? then it would be cheaper to buy them off him... at 200 bucks per door , its a bargain.

More gain can be made in these pods then spending 1000 dollars on a component set.

The quality of sound in car is all in the install. One could make off brand crap sound better then dynaudios if one so desired

Here is a better picture. We are still studying the possibility of having the mold made. If we make them out of fiberglass it will expensive, However I see some of you think it would be a bargain at that price. We may just decide to do it. Any one out there willing to pre-buy or pre-deposit Half. We would need about 4 buyers to make the mold cost worth while.

and chance of them being a trifle more directional?

or perhaps if you get me as far as that unfinish I could modify the panel for my own needs

Yes we can give it a little more angle, However you may find when sitting in the car it will hit the side of your leg. May be bothersome for some people. However I am willing to listen.

Can you post a pic of the back of that pod? Also one of the door after the pod's removed? Just want to get an idea of the actual size & quality.

Sorry, I can't.

The car is already delivered. They were one of a kind.

If we are to do the mold and make them out of fiberglass they would be built a little different, Material wise.

Most magnets will start hitting the door at an angle that is set in more.
