Default Alpine CDA9835 question

To all those who has the Alpine CDA9835 HU installed.

Is it normal that when you turn your headlights on, the head units displays dim?

My head unit dims as well, really bad while using Alpine Ipod link. Poor Alpine design. Spoke to Alpine was told that it is normal.

Ok, I guess I can answer my own question. It dims for a specific reason.

During the day since its bright the HU display should be bright 'coz if the sun's rays hits the HU it can still be readable.

And if its night time, it dims just because it might be too bright inside the car.

The dimmer is currently set to "auto" haven't tried setting it to "manual"

Overall, its an awersome player.

Thanks for your post(s)

ya it kinda sucks when you're in the rain with your lights on. very hard to read, but correctable with a few pushes of a button to turn it from auto to manual.
