No need to. It ends up being the same output as a non-FM modulated Satellite radio signal.

My advice, go Sirius, dump HD radio. Not worth it.

I believe the deck I have KDC-X879 controls the Sirius unit, is this right? What would I need to buy?

I know kenwood makes the sirius brain, not sure on the XM. But as to what you need, you need the sirius brain for the kenwood and an antenna.

With the brain alot of car audio places give it away for free if you sign up with sirius service at the store (I got mine free when I transfered service), if you can't get it for free, it's $50. Then the antenna will cost you $25 or so.

Cool. On the XM site they have a brain for $50 and a Kenwood adapter for $30. I don't know if that will work as well as Sirius, I'll check them both out.

If you look at my install post, that is what you will need with your kenwood for Sirius. Got tuner and antenna for 90 from crutchfield.com One wire hookup straight to HU
