So unless you are telling us that you are going to purchase these for anyone not in the military your information = 100 percent useless zand.

 

Yes, AAFES is an authorized Kenwood retailer. But, you have to be a member of the military to purchase.

If you buy your unit through a friend in the military, the warranty is issued to that person. The selling shop keeps a record of who they sold the unit to and submits it to Kenwood. So, if you have a problem, you will need to go back through that person to receive your warranty work if necessary.

BTW, most of the units you see selling on eBay for $850-$900 are refurbished units.

Regardless, since there is more "I can get is cheaper and don't care about the warranty" discussion than interest in trying to put the group buy together, I've already dropped it. Called the vendor a few days ago and told him there wasn't enough interest. When I asked if I had come back with 10 verified buyers if he could have done a better price, he did quote me one that would have been under $1100 total (tax and shipping included).
