I am using the JVC KD-DV5100, and it is damn nice head unit. I love the software it uses to sort through mp3's, and the fact that it reads mp3's from DVDs is SO nice.

hey paul, which looks better in person? the pioneer or the farenheit? the farenheit looks like it has a washed out picture. Not too impressive. But i'm thinking it might be the lighting with your camera flash or something that makes it look that way. just curious.

The farenheit has a pretty good picture IMO. The only problem I have, is when you bring the brightness down (night time) there is kind of a flicker to some of the colors on my Players Heads up display. In movies I don't see it at all, just my head units display.

EDIT: But what can you expect for $100???

same problem with the night modus. My headunit is jvc-KD-4201. Maybe its a problem with jvc, not with the Farenheit display ?!

I spent some time finding the settings where it doesnt do it so bad, the screen is just so damn bright at nighttime, that I have to bring it down to like 20%!

Would be cool if you could save your "custom" settings, its a pain having to bring it down to 20-30% every time i drive at night.

You could control your head unit from the screen (if it supports that.) Which makes sorting through 100's of MP3's alot easier, and lets face it, it has the "coolness" factor to.

My head unit supports DVD mp3 cd's, if I was able to use a touch screen to sort through them, that would be heaven!

Some of the Alpine HU's do and I am sure some Premier also. Mostly the very top end stuff though.

Any reason you used the T-7000MHR instead of the T-7001MHR? The only difference I can tell is the 7001 is the newer model that has 2 inputs vs. 1 but they both seem to be discontinued. I can still find them, but everyone says they are discontinued.

Anyway, I'm wondering if the 7001 is the exact same size as the 7000. I'd rather have two input than one...
