Sony MP3 Install
Guys,
Just got my Sony MP3 deck installed at Tweeter. A picture:
Yes, yes, I know, you want a pic of it in the car, but with no digicam until after Christmas, we're SOL. I will say though, it complements the Z's interior in every way, considering you can change the display color to orange, which is fairly close to the color of the instruments, and the metal on the deck accents the steering wheel and shift ****. Sound quality's quite good, not great, but I'm held back by the quality of the MP3 as well as the stock speakers. Good enough for me though, since I'm not spending any more on the stereo. Also, used the Metra kit, but to my dismay, the kit doesn't allow another single DIN unit, such as the Blitz triple gauge pack or an equalizer, to be installed under the unit. I'll work on a pic--

Some pics (at last)
I know the daylight pics don't show it all, but the orange backlighting on the CDX-MP-70 matches the Z's interior backlighting perfectly. And the aluminum finish fits too

You know, I can live with the Metra dask kit, but why in the hell do they have the back holes in the lower compartment. I using the metra kit as well, but I still for the life of me can't figure out why they put those 4 holes in there....any ideas? It really stands out in the pic above.

I would assume they left the holes in anticipation of aftermarket electronics. The lower din tray is always a great place to install things like boost controllers , and other small stuff like the Tein EDFC unit.

I know the quality is horrendous, but you get the picture (sort of). My lights aren't really this bright, but you can see how close the match is.
As for the kit, the holes in the back aren't that obvious; the flash seemed to make it stand out. I would think a universal kit would work for the Z, as it has a double-DIN radio, but this kit is supposed to be customized for the Z.
