If somone really wants to put some big beat in this ride, You could put 3 Ten inch speakers in this area, and still hold all the factory look. D class amplifiers make the power possible in that project, and keeping the same amp location.

You could put 3 10's if you wanted. Keep the same amp location and factory exterior.

Well, I changed out the headunit to a Sony CDX-C7050X that I had pulled from my previous car. I'll use it for a while but I'm thinking of going with an Alpine CDA-7995 in the near future. We'll see. Also bypassed the EQ. I guess it's too complicated for me cause the sound from the Son HU is cleaner than the signal passed through the EQ. Anyway, here's some more pics...Special thanks to scafrmon for his DIY on the stereo install / removal...

Another view of the sub/amp install. The guys from Procreation in Clovis did a great job on the sub. Fits like a glove and has killer sound.

I like the stealthiness of it all. So if I were to keep the stock h/u, would I need the EQ? How much could I expect to pay, or better yet, what did you pay, if you don't mind? Minus the Sony h/u. I'm just afraid that I wouldn't be able to get any custom fiberglas done in Columbus, MS...

Looks great! I love the way the sony headunits look. Glad you worked out the bass thing.

Install was $700 for dynomat, custom sub box, and component installation. I bought all the pieces beforehand. I don't think you'd need an EQ. I just figured it would give me extra control of the singal coming from the HU before it went to the amp. I ended up bypassing, though when I added the Sony HU. If you're going to keep the stock HU, the only thing you have to do is add a speaker to RCA line converter to clean up the signal and run it via RCA to the amp...

I have an off-topic question for you Qbnmissile. If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase that black bra for the front of your Z? Did you put a clear bra on first to protect the paint, then put the black one on? How much did you pay? Are you happy with the bra?

I looked at going with the clear bra but its too f*%#@ng expensive to buy and then install. I've always liked black bras. It's a Colgan "Original" bra I purchased from http://www.autoseattle.com . Quick shipping and pretty knowledgable staff. Here's a link on what I've write up on this so far with some pics too. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=17214
Any more Q's, I'll be happy to answer them. Oh and by the way, yes I'm very happy with the bra. Someone wrote about how much of a ***** it is to remove the bra for every wash and after a rain storm. Well, I live in Fresno where the annual rainfall can be measured in millimeters, so I'm not too worried about all that stuff. later

Default REMOVABLE

First of all, looks great!

Few questions

Is the sub easily removed?
Do you have any pictures with it out.
Do you have the dimensions of the enclosure?

Thanks
