Default My new sub enclosure + amp rack

Found it fairly difficult to find a car stereo place that would make me a custom enclosure without it costing me an arm and a leg. I finally decided on cartoys, who I usually hate because they are so overpriced. But they quoted me a price of 350 for a custom-made sealed enclosure and they would mount my infinity perfect 10 in it. Also I had them build an amp mounting rack in the stock subwoofer cubbyhole. And that ran me another 75 bucks or so. So all together it cost me about $425 and it took them over 7 hours, so overall I'm very happy with the quality and how it looks. As you can see from the amp mount location I still need to screw it down (already ran all the wiring) and fire it up. On to the pictures!

Hard to see in this picture because of the black carpet, but the back of the enclosure has a nice curve up to the strut bar.

As you can see from the empty amp rack, I haven't wired it yet. I hope to have time to do it sometime this week, then I will have some final pics and sound impressions.

Grr....wired up the amp tonight, turned it on for the first time, and.............no power. Checked all the connections and fuses, everything seemed fine so I was just pissed that I got a fried amp. Took a break and got an idea that it might be the remote turn on lead from the head unit, so I wired +12 directly into the remote connector on the amp and it worked perfectly. So for some reason the remote wire from the head unit isn't going hot when it turns on. Oh well I guess I get to run a seperate wire to the fuse box. :P

It was too dark to get a picture, even with flash. I will get one tomorrow and put it up. The sub sounded pretty good for the time I was listening to it, but I have to do some tweaking still.

Ok, ran a wire to the fuse box in the drivers side footwell, which was super easy, amp now has power when ACC is on...yay. Sounds good, my head unit has a ton of controls for adjusting the crossover and boost.

Here are a couple pics of the wired up sub in the cubby hole.
