13w7 in a Z? GQ crazy style with some class :) pics :)
well, i just got finished with Ravi (GQ 350)'s beautiful daytona blue Z. despite my warnings, he picked up a 13w7...two things concnered me, one was its hugeness and where to put it, the second was its required 1.8cubfeet of air space. there are also two Elemental amps he supplied, and i got him a set of UR6s DLS speakers.
so...the goal was keep some part hte trunk usable, while doing a clean and classy install with some show ability... whcih given the size of the sub, was a challenge in itself. lol after measuring and remeasuring, it was determined that the best place for the sub, or rather the only place, was behind the arch, but wtih still two amps and crossovers to fit, i was worried that things would get too crowded...
but int he end, i think it turned out well
there is a 1.7 cub feet polyfilled box in the spare tire well (both side foam pieces had to be removed), above it, sit hte sub inverted in its own tray lined in blue vinyl. the floor is 1/2 mdf, cut into two pieces, one goes around the outside and the sub, covered in black matching vinyl, the rest i cut out and covered in blue vinyl, and high lights the amps and crossovers
the amp covers have raised lettering that says GQ and 350z, though it may be hard to tell in the picture, this is done at ravi's request
anyway, the sub just is HUGE amidst all this, but nowt hat its done, looking back, its kinda unique in its hugeness lol..
anyway...dont ask me how it soudns cause its not done yet, he is pikcing up the car today and then coming back next week for me to finish the kicks and iwring it up
i am sure Ravi himself will chime in when he gets home, he is on his way here now, so gotta go :P
oh and my back hurts like hell lifting that 55lb sub in and out of hte car...
questions, comments, and criticisms all welcome.
eventaally, i thinkhe can get a csutom cut floor mat, and make most of his trunk taolyl usable, right now, the safest place is to put things is infront of hte strut brace on the fake floor

Got your missed call, but I had hiccups so I didn't answer.
Damn bro...looks nice and clean! Does it sound better than the stock system? LOL...j/k. But I have no clue about anything when it comes to audio so you're going to have to help me with that stuff when the time comes!
And hey, you should get that blue portion done in matching blue suede! Actually I don't know how that would look..

It's all good hahah...
still haven't heard it yet because the install is still in progress hhaha...
but yeah, definitely one other huge plus, my car is EVEN more dumped in rear now hahahaha.. I was going to switch out the suspension but now reconsidering. I honestly thing the rear is lower than the front now..CRAZY.
I'd estimate we added about 150 lbs to the rear, but also subtracted everything that was previously there. Its just nuts man, nuts. Try drinking an entire glass of water without breathing in once (e.g. in one gulp)..that should take care of your hiccups.
peace!

LOL yeah, when it rains I could probably just turn the stereo up.
::shrugs:: I could take water off my car when I had the 12w6v2. With this, I should be able to make the rain stop LOL
