abz123, thanks for all the info.
I still can't decide if I want to go with the non-vga screen or wait for the VGA to come out.
1. How does the microsoft nav program look like on the non-vga screen?
2. Where do you connect the gps antenna ?
3. Does the wireless mouse have to have a view of the PC ?

VGA would look awesome. I may switch over at a future date....but I have some toys to play with in the meantime
1. I have a few picture posted on this site somewhere....do a search for 'mappoint'. Again small text suffers... However personally I think it is usable.
2. Haven't connected the antenna yet. I have a Garmin V. I need a remote antenna. Either buying a remote antenna or I'm a buying a quarter size unit that hooks directly to PC.
3. The trackball is working on radio frequency so it does not need a direct line of site.

The PC thing is new to me too, so I'm sorta feeling it out as I go....Right now I have the PC in the glove box. I gonna run it and see if I run into heat issues in there. I took out the plastic tray underneath the glove box and am storing all my wiring underneath there, along with my TV tuner. The original cloth/cardboard piece goes on top of that and the PC sits on top of that. You can access the PC to turn it on/off without bothering the passenger, but changing DVDs might be a problem...so some modification might be in order. Might move the DVD somewhere else? I may do nothing since I don't use DVDs that often.
GPS = M.S. mappoint...as I told shagz there should be some pictures on this forum.

Re: wireless network card?
Your house (you can sit in the garage and download files), coffee shops that offer free wireless access, and kind 'friends' in every city and town .
