Yeah man, the music is cool. Don't know why those fat guys didn't come out and it was their stuff. MP3 is the only place to get thoses.

It's my computer system...winamp and MMD3 skin.

There should be a few threads on it.

I have GPS, dvd software, and I'm in the process of putting a wireless network card in.

3) is that composite out or VGA?

how much?

tell all please!

I'm psyched I got an aftermarket NAV and not stock.
My ALPINE TME650 screen takes a NAv and 3 composite inputs.

Thanks,

1) Clarion FM200 FM modulator (~$50 with shipping) A mini stereo to rca adapter from the computer to the FM modulator

2) I have a kensington RF wireless trackball so I'm using that for now (works good but bulky)......looking at getting a presentation mouse remote.

3) That's composite RCA....small text size suffers (any text above a font size of 16 or 18 looks good) . My LCD is a non-VGA Faranheit 7001. I think a VGA would look out of this world..but there none at this moment that will fit.

4) Cost
computer with memory and 2.5" 20 GB HD => ~$400
LCD screen => $291
FM modulator => $50
cables and misc => ~$100
installation => did it myself.
winamp => free
rest of software I already have so it's free too.

So roughly $850-$900, but I'm also using it for DVD, GPS, games, and soon wireless connection.

Wow that's sweet... especially since you did it yourself. And the cost seems very reasonable. Good work!

That is really GOOD. I've been dying to put a screen in, but somehow, the dvd/nav/cd units that are out there, just didn't give enuf bang for the buck for my liking. With a PC in there, you can do anything.
Now, let me ask you...what kind of puter did you put in, where did you put it in, and where can I find such a puter, prolly ebay?

Alrighty then....I read thru some of the posts...and have a much better idea.
So you bought the case and the parts separately? Or, can you buy the final product off-the-shelf?
Either way, can you tell me what parts I will need to buy for the puter?
I saw the case on : http://www.casetronic.com/Product/PC...minicheck.html

Or a puter on : http://www.cappuccinopc.com/cappuccinotx1.asp

But it's $659.
Could you post or PM me a shopping list so I can build one like yours for ~$400

Thank you sir. Got some more questions :

1. Have you encountered any skipping issues, either of the dvd or the hdd?
2. Which mobo, memory, HDD and DVD are you using? Is that all the hardware you had to get ?
3. What kind of cables do I need with it, what length?
4. Do I need anything extra for the powersupply? Or can I just get a lighter adapter and hook that up?
5. Can I use a touchscreen with this? Do I need any extra h/w?

I know...a lot of questions...but your system is so good...I'm already salivating out here !!!

1. No skipping to date.
2. m9000, 256MB DDR (Samsung, Kingston, Cosair are among those that they suggest), 2.5" laptop HDD, slim DVD. You will need an adapter for both the laptop HDD and slim DVD. There's a PCI slot so I guess you can add a wireless card or whatever you want. So, (a) Case/Power supply (b) motherboard (c) slim DVD (d) laptop HDD (e) whatever you want in the extra PCI.
3. You will need a RCA cables and connectors. Length will depend on where you want to mount/put it and how you want to run the wires. Mini stereo to RCA converter. Whatever you are using for power.
4. I have an inverter...the connector on the power supply is dc plug. I assume a direct power connection to cigarette lighter would probably work.
5. Touchscreen => I don't see why not, if you have a lcd capable or some sort of add on.
