hah dont cut the carpet.

After my install was done... I endedup buyed another carpet.

I would just leave the carpet out rather than cutting it. The carpet doesnt fit back in there 100% anyway. I think it looks better without the carpet anyway.

BTW cutting a peice of mdf to fit that exact shap is a real B*tch. haha

no i mean i traced out the stock mat onto another piece of high grade carpet i have, and cut that piece out to go over the top of it all so it provides a durable but breathable covering piece

If you don't mind sharing w/ us what are the dimensions of that box. I was planning on doing something similar using at JL Audio 10W3V3 which has a mounting depth of 5.93" and from the JL audio recommended sub dim it requires .625 cu.ft. The recommended dim. call for an enclosure measuring 18x11x9 (LxHxD). Any help is appreciated. Thanks. BTW outstanding job man.

Wow that is a real shallow mounting depth for that sub. Is there any space between the enclosure floor and the sub's magnet?

Do you think a 1/4" would be enough space between magnet and sub enclosure floor?
