Depends on the application and the size of the box. If a small sealed box ... don't worry too much about it, as it will barely affect it. In larger sealed applications where the compliance (stiffness of pushing in the cone) is determined by the spider, you will need to worry about it .. since that will basically make the cone harder to move in verus out (since the air trapped in that vent hole on the sub will be compressed in the small outlet area).

im thinking about upgrading my subs now but i dunno if i have any other choice in subs that will fit in the same position as the one i have without raising the floor.

Those speakers i have are crazy! crisp and clear..... so clear to the point where i can hear the imperfections in mp3s that were recorded. Thats a good and bad thing. A real album CD sounds just wonderful though. Playing a mariah carey old school jams is unbelieveable as well as carlos santana
