christurismohk, how do you like the video resolution of that monitor? Do DVDs look good on it and how does the Windows desktop look, easy to read ? I'm thinking of getting the same LCD as you or the Starvision TM-722 Color LCD Monitor (SV-TM722) or Legacy LM71 7" LCD Video Monitor. Just wanted to know the Starvision quality, they are cheap and very appealing.

The DVD looks decent on the screen..but there are some certain angle that does not show very clear. I dont have too much money to put on the LCD (note: farenheit 7" for like $300), my LCD is only like $135 with remote. I m not planning to put PC into my car..so i am not sure about the windows. honestly, i am happy with this LCD and i love the color, the silver ring around the screen matches with the silver ring around the 3 gauges. Also, i has a remote.
good luck on your parts

Default what happend to the pics? all red X's

Also, can you hook up a Navagation to your system? Could you add a NAV ant. and buy some DVD's and that would be it? Or is there something else need to add Nav? I am assuming that you know the answer, sorry if you don't.

Thanks

The LCD has nothing to do with the navagation. LCD is the output which means what ever DVD navagation you get will show up in the screen. Is like getting any kind of TV and you can still play VCR or playstation with it. Hope this helps

Hey sorry about that, I guess I already knew the answer to my own question. I was just curious as to if someone HAS to buy a Navigation Unit in order to have Nav, like would you be able to buy Navigation DVD's and use it in your DVD player.

Your system looks pretty sweet, and budget wise that was a great price!!!!!!!

Did you have the NAV screen? Or did you have nothing, like on the base model? Great Job!

Nope...I bought the LCD screen from etronics.com. It was just a compartment before the installation.
good luck on your purchase with your Z

How hard was it to put the screen in the nav space? Do you have to cut the box or does it just snap out? Does this make sense?

I understand you. NO cutting at all. I just used double sided anti-heat tape on the top and the bottom of the LCD, and then slap it back in. If you have taken out your compartment, you will notice there is a metal frame that holds the compartment. What I did was turn that upside down, and then allow my LCD to sit on it. Hope it helps.

nice install im contemplating the same thing.

what are the external dimensions of the case on your monitor? i looked at starvision's website and they don't have that model listed anymore (as far as I can tell).

do you know the max dimension of a monitor that you can fit in that space? i know you mentioned that there are certain angles you cant view from, but how is the picture otherwise? clear enough see a movie well?

thanks for the inspiration!

Did you mount the dvd player in the mail box slot or the glovebox?

If in the mailbox slot how does it fit? Is it flush with the panels or does it stick out? Do you have a pic?

That looks great! I'm looking to do the same thing. Only I want to put a touch screen in so I can hook it up to a computer so I can do navigation and such. I was looking at http://www.gnetcanada.com for one of their 7" touch screens and auto pc's.

How hard was it to take apart the console? Do you need any special tools?
