Default newest install done :) 03 mustang, please dont mock the car ;)

just gone done with an install thats a bit diffrerent than what i am used to doing...yeah yeah, i know its a mustang, so please dont rag on it too much

The customer supplied pretty much ALL the equipment and dampening...he already had a rear seat delete kit int he car, so no, i wasnt the one that demanded the removal of the rear seats

goals:

1. install of all gear int he back seat area
2. dampening of key vibration areas
3. good sound quality overall

lets get started wtih the dampening:

the entire back seat area, all the way up to the rear deck, is dampened with customer supplied raammat, also dampend were the large plastic interior panels, along wtih both door panels:

moving onto the audio part, customer supplied alpine headunit resides in the stock location, note remote bass **** flushed into the panel beneath the HU and next to the LED

The customer also supplied a pair of Image Dyanmics CSX62 chameleon components. Unfrotuantely, due tot he LARGE size of these speaker, they dont fit int he doors (not even close), and the ONLY way i found that i can fit htem is with wrelatively off axis kicks...so in they went...

moving onto the major attraction, the back seat area, here is hwat it looks like all closed up.

Note the dual IDQ31 31band rack mount eqs facing foward, concealed by tthe seat when they are in the normal position. The vent in the front of the floor rack is an air inlet for a crossflow fan

note the mustang logo in raised vinyl on the main cover

and here is what lurks bgehind the covers. two imgae dynamics ID10s, trimed in blue suede fire forwards, and two arc audio 2100xxks, along wtih a kicker crossover, resides in a suede lined well underplexi and my logo. the fan, keeps them cool

finally, he has managed to keep about 70 percent of his trunk space, via a fake carpeted wall that extends to both sides, spare tire is still fully accessible

overall, i havent done a rear seat delete install like this in a long time, and i think it turned out okay and it does sound pretty dynamic overall, with eye level imaging and staging

Did you tune the EQ's? What do you think of the front speakers....it's really the only ID speaker I've yet to hear.

i tuned a little bit with the eq, gonna do some more listening with the customer when he gets here...

the ID chameleon is a powerful speaker, extremely good midbass, decent midrange and highs, but i still prefer the sound of DLS ultaimtes over it in terms of midrange and highs smoothness...

but very few can top it interms of midbass prowess

is that in reference to the deadening, or to the whole system?

net addtion of weight i would guestimate at below 100 lbs, since hte hefty rear seats were removed.. and those weighs a decent amount

you have a guy in st louis bud, he acutally has a very similar principle as me.

www.jmlaudio.com

call them up, ask for Justin, tell him Bing referred you top notch work and a great guy!

I was reffering to both actually, but the deadening the most....

you know I guess people who do their systems like this are also not really interested in "ultimate Performance". I have dynamat, but not that much....but i'm sure it must be quiet as hell in those cars. Keep up the good work.

Nice install as usual!

It looks like the guy could have some clutch issues with that HUGE kick panel.

his respones so far have been no problem heck, i have size 13 shoes and can do the clutch fine.

the picture, taken at the angle, makes it look like its closer to the clutch than it is

as far as dampening, the reason why its done is casue the mustang is rattle city... but i thin kyou guys are way over estimting how much the dampening weighs lol.

he supplied me two rolls, which i weight at about 35 lbs each, i only used 1.25 rolls, so honesly, about 45 lbs in dampening. about another 60-70 lbs in steroe system, for a total of 125 lbs ish, the stock seat back, seat cushion mounting hardware, seat belt hardware is a good solidk 75-80 lbs...

so a net increase of an estimate 40 lbs back there...whcih equates to about 4 hp loss?

looks good, what kind of mustang is it...the only one I like is the SVT Cobra 2003-2004. Swap out the eaton for a kennebelle and you've got one hell of a monster in hp.
