Default System install

And so it begins.......

Car: 2005 Nissan 350z 6mt Enthusiast. Stock non-bose stereo without nav.

Goal for the system: Clean SQ based system with as little impact to interior space as possible. Sub will go in one of Nazar's sidebox sub enclosures. Head unit will be an Alpine IVA-W200 run through an Alpine PXA-H701. Amp will go in cubby behind driver's seat. DLS component mids and tweeters will go in kick panels, woofers in door panels.

Install is set for this Thursday. In order to save a long day of photo uploading, I thought I'd start with a few now. Some components arrived today from Bing (Simplicity) along with some of his kick panel handy work. Dom, a friend of Bing's, will be completing the install because his is more local to me.

Pictured components: DLS Iridium 6.3 mid and tweeter in kick panel, DLS RA50, and DLS Iridium 10" sub.

Dropped the car off at the installers yesterday morning. He sent me some progress pics this morning. Here's a couple.

Here is a link to the thread the installer started: I'm not sure if you can see the pics if you're not a member so I'll post the pics here too in a bit.

Here ya go

The setup:

Alpine W200 w/ H701 processor
Alpine Fullspeed Ipod Connection
Alpine Bluetooth Adapter

DLS RA50 5 Channel Amplifier
DLS Ultimate Iridium 6.3i
DLS Iridium 10 Subwoofer

Edead SE^2 for dampening
-----------------------------------

Cockpit

Had to drill my own mounting holes to get this to fit properly.

Speaker setup mounted the usual way. Stage height is perfect.

Pods built by Bing, who was kind enough to refer Mike to me for the install

Remote bass ****, ipod cable and bluetooth controller.

Amp/Accessories rack, I doubt many people have shove more stuff into here

Dom does awesome work. I'm sure you were as pleased with him as i was... surprised he didn't attempt to talk you into 8.3's like he did me. He figured out a long time ago though that he can talk me into anything. I'm weak to this man

Thanks for posting them here, Dom.

Hey Runyon- I saw pics of your install. I can't imagine what those 8" speakers sound like up front. Must be awesome.

I gotta ask you this. Please, Don't take this the wrong way, I am not trying to knock you in any way, but why are you using cheesy $6.00 generic interconnects???

BTW, your car looks sweet! I really like the Z in White. Very nice!

+1. Premium RCA's and connectors DO make a difference. Nice set-up.

No worries.... someone else asked the same thing on another forum. The RCA's are Tsunami V10's. The Y's you see are of unknown origin... but, hey, they are gold plated. Bing sent them along with my shipment.

Finally got the sub box I wanted. Nazar's sub box wouldn't fit my sub (box was too shallow), so I had Dom (Mr X) custom build me one... and it's also the correct size. Nazar's was only .47 cu ft and my sub called for .77 cu ft.
