Default Just installed Avic-D3 into my 350z

I just installed the avic myself. First off I would like to thank all the people on this website who posted on how to remove the stock radio and all the other diy's needed to complete the install.

The install was pretty easy. It only took like an hour. The hardest part was finding the reverse light wire. As for the headunit itself I really like it. For the price you can't beat it. I don't really mind switching the dvd nav cd. I listen to the radio a lot too so I don't have to switch that much. The only thing that might make this headunit a little better is if it came with a remote.

Sorry for the picture quality's. Im not a really good camera person.

Wow, that D3 matches perfectly with rest of the dash.
Is the UI customizable?

I hear that for D3, you cant watch DVDs while you're moving... were you able to bypass the restriction??? If so, how? Thanks!!!

nice install!
where did you end up putting:
1) the GPS antenna
2) Bluetooth module
3) Ipod cable (the OEM cubby seems like the logical choice there!)

thanks in advance!

yeah i put the gps in the cubby. I haven't got the Ipod adapter yet. As for watching dvd's I did the bypass. You can find all the information about it at avic411.com. It was a pretty easy mod.

I've got the D3 coming in tomorrow. I was wondering which wire was the VSS and which was the reverse light?

Looks familiar! Installed one a few weeks ago in my Z.

The VSS wire is on the AC console behind the dash. The reverse wire is under the triangular window behind the driver seat.

To the OP, do you get the "white-noise" problem when the beep is set to on? It is a noise whenever the buttons are pressed, coming from the speakers.

the dash console I got from crutchfield. As for the "white noise", I don't hear anything like that.

Which wire is it back there? Any chance you could take a quick pic for a fellow Z owner? Much appreciated. Its not any different on the 06 than the 05 either, is it?
