wadd, just had my stereo installed and my installer was very upset he couldn't get the din to match up with the top/bottom of the din plate. ie below
nav door and above temp **** .

i would like to know how you suggest
bending the stainless to match better?
he said he was afraid it would kink...
please help in this matter spent alot of money on this install so far... need it to look better. JR

I dont have it as I dont have aftermarket, but I would suggest taking a 2x4 and sanding it into the curve you want with a real rough grit and a electric sander. then push the metal onto the curve, it should get a real even bend.

and wadd, if you need any LED lighting rigged up for this maybe we can get together and I can work something out for it. Ive been getting pretty handy with soldering those little guys. could mount a .5inch peice of plexiglass behind the cut out and mount LEDs right in the plexiglass, itd solve the issue of people sticking things through the holes too.

zperfect,

There should be SOME gap but not any more then pictured for MY personal install. I put a VERY small bend in mine just using my hands and also my knee. Its thin enough that you can do that. I dont think it will kink....... my last two havent so yours should not either.

If he lines the 4 corners up FLUSH with the surface, the middle should be kicked in SLIGHTLY but not so that people would say "what is wrong with this". It is easy enough that you could do it without the annoyance of the installer.

Should only take a few minutes to pop out the front panel and line her up. Email me if you have more questions. I'll do whatever you need to me to help out.

Default nothing different than the others before this but....

it looks so damn good!!

Have to admit, I was a bit concerned using when I started test fitting, and even more so when I slapped some tape on there, but the end result is nice!! Got the sweeper light, hooked it to the remote turn on, so whenever the head unit is turned on, the light comes on.

I know in the pictures the gap is really noticable, but when sitting in the car, you can barely tell. I did try to put a slight bend, but then I wasn't able to fit the head unit in.

thanks wadd, I really hated that metra kit!
