The upgrade I've been working on
A lot of 15's wouldn't. The IDQ is pretty shallow and is able to play in a relatively small enclosure- 1.5 net cu ft in this case. The box could have easily been expanded to the sides for more air space so I still have some growing room.

. Thanks, Kwame.1200 watts are going to the sub via the DLS A6 running at 1ohm. WAY overkill.... like that's a bad thing.

Honestly, for 2000 watts (about), I'm in the same position as you mentioned in your thread. It's not THAT loud.... just clean.

I'm going to work on my tweeter pods next, but am unsure how I want/ can do what I want.
Thanks again.

Love to have you listen... and listen to yours.
Dom and I will be getting together probably during the week of July 16th. I'm toying with the idea of putting two 13av2's in the hatch and having Dom build me enclosures like Kwame's. The speakers will probably be delayed, but we want to brainstorm and I'll have that week off.
We should all go out to dinner.

Where in SoCal are you? I will be in La Jolla in October for a buddy's wedding, is that anywhere near you? I would love to meet up and hear that in person.

Remember, though- 2x12 is 24".... I have *only* 15".

For those interested, the 13av2 is a new subwoofer for Elemental Design (eD). Dom heard one at the Meet that eD held recently and really thought it would hit home with me. They are having an issue in production but our goal is to get two of them (right dom?
) in the back in a similar fashion to Kwame. I don't know what airspace K's are in, but we will need 2 cu ft per box and they will be ported. If Dom can borrow a pre-production model, we (he) can use it to work on the box(es)Should be fun.... and an epic challenge for Dom. And since he's doing this all for free, it's really no big deal to me..... (
just seeing if you're paying attention Dom.

)I am using 1.25 cu. ft per box and of course mine are sealed.
Here are some tips I learned from my install when building a box in the corners of the hatch. The two boxes will never be the same. The reason being the passenger side box will have the fill-up hose from the gas tank interfering with its design. It's not a huge deal it is just something to remember. Another thing to consider is that the bigger the sub the more horizontal it will be. I wanted the bottom of my sub to be even with the floor of the trunk, without raising the trunk floor that way I can utilize whatever cargo space I have remaining. Hopefully this helps when you are planning out your install. Good luck, I know it will be awesome.
Thanks, K. Hopefully it will be done before your visit. Things are up in the air right now with eD and this sub. Could easily be another 90 days before they are available.
Hmmmmm. 1.25 cu ft. Maybe 2.0 cu ft will be harder than I thought without taking up too much room. We'll see.
