Well this is my second time installing. The first time the ipod was in the upper cubby hole and well that didnt work to well. It rattled around and was a pain to get to lay flush. So I relocated it to the armrest. MUCH MUCH better. Now I can plug up my USB drive to the input which is now wired right under the shift boot!! easy access. I will have to install it a 3rd time to readjust the trim plate by drilling new holes in the bracket so my headunit fills the upper gap better and also sits back a 1/4" more.
it's hard to get a shot during the day that doesnt reflect off the screen. maybe I should shoot at night with the dome light on.????

baller with a dollar!

the manual states it must be in Jpeg format and a certain pixel size (ie 1700x600)....You can read it in the paper manual or at www.kenwoodusa.com or whatever there site it.
I found that most pics that people post via photobucket are a good size, also I am trying to find more wallpapers cause the AVIC-D3 guys have some nice ones. The benifit of the smaller ones are there is less pixle compression.
Hope that helps

question? I just installed a 6017 in my z, is there a special trim ring that goes in there you have to buy seperate or is that the one that came with your unit. because mine won't fit in there at all.

The manual says to use the USB port to download background images, but I can't find any USB port. Maybe upload to the iPod, and download from there?

if you mean the ipod connector than no. I bought the kenwood ipod controller seperately.
Also I do not know about the 7100 but the 7019 has the usb port in the back. The iPod controller has a usb plug, and audio plug, and a video plug. I routed it to the shift boot and that way I just pull up on the boot and can unplug the ipod usb and plug in a thumb drive.

yes, everything is controlled by the screen or remote. I never touch the ipod.
get the video compatable one so you can play videos from your ipod on the tv screen. I do not know the model number, just make sure its the kenwood brand.
